Helen Hughes - Treasurer

Helen Hughes (Ms) IPFA, BSc is Head of the WHO Office for Patient Safety, London. The London and Geneva Offices form the secretariat of the WHO Patient Safety Programme, the WHO World Alliance for Patient Safety.

She is responsible for managing the London Office including supporting the Patients for Patients Safety Programme and the development of new partnership programmes in Africa.

Most of Helen's career has been as a Director in a range of healthcare organisations in the UK. Her passion and commitment for patient safety led her to be the first Director of Operations at the UK National Patient Safety Agency.

Helen has been Director of Finance and Operations in NHS Organisations with responsiblity for commissioning and delivering community and home based services.

Helen is a trustee of St. Christopher's hospice.

She lives in South East London with her two sons.
